Cooking class at reindeer farm

After you arrive to Jaakkola, your hosts will welcome you by telling few words about the reindeer farm, reindeer herding, Lappish and Saami culture and traditions. You have chance to meet friendly reindeer and feed them from your own hand. After a short outdoor visit, you begin to prepare a wonderful three course dinner together with your hosts. You will use pure local ingredients as forest mushrooms, berries, local root vegetables and good quality reindeer meat straight from the reindeer farm. You also set and decorate the tables together and finally enjoy the meal on the heat of the flaming fire. While enjoying the dessert, you will hear relaxing drumming and touching saami joik.

Menu proposition: Forest mushroom soup, Lappish flat bread, reindeer steaks, creamy potatoes, root vegetables, red wine sauce, pancakes with ice cream and cloudberry jam, coffee or tea. Drinks: Tap water, berry juice. Other refreshments by agreement.
Duration: about 2,5 hours.
