The surroundings of the Pyhä hotel plateau will undergo a transformation this summer, as the Kultakero I and II buildings, along with the Hotel Pyhätunturi, will receive an updated outdoor area. The renovation will focus mainly on signage and waste management, while optimizing parking spaces to ensure the best possible use.
One of the key changes is improving signage and waste management. With new signs, visitors will easily find suitable places while ensuring smooth traffic flow for buses and trucks in the area. A new cardboard baler will enhance waste management and recycling efficiency.
The number of parking spaces will be optimized, adding 15-20 additional spaces. This expansion will provide more parking space and ensure access for visitors to the plateau services. Day parking, for example, for users of the scenic lift and hikers in the national park, will continue to be conveniently located in front of the Visitor Centre Naava, next to the Lower rental shop, at the North Slopes, and at the Family Slopes.

As environmental awareness grows, electric vehicle use is becoming increasingly popular. Therefore, the renovation also considers electric vehicle drivers, with eight new charging stations allocated for them. This will bring the total to 12 charging stations serving visitors at the plateau.
The preliminary completion target for the outdoor renovation is by Midsummer 2024.
