Slope safety

On the slopes, everyone is responsible for slope safety – by following the rules, everyone enjoys and feels safe. Ski Patrol operates on Pyhä's ski slopes and their job is to take care of the slope safety.

General emergency number: 112

On the slopes of Pyhä, Ski Patrol operates with the mission of monitoring and enhancing slope safety. Ski Patrol provides guidance and advice, conducts preventive slope and safety measures, and handles first aid and rescue operations. They navigate the slopes on skis or snowmobiles with a rescue sled, and they’re easily recognizable by their red and yellow uniforms.

If an accident occurs on or off the slopes and first aid is required on-site, report the incident to a lift attendant at the base station or contact the slope patrol at +35810 382 5052. In cases of serious accidents, always call the emergency number 112 first.

The Pyhä area is also served by the Tunturi Medical Center, where Ski Patrol can transport the injured if necessary.

For accidents occurring within the national park, always report to the emergency number 112.
