You will also learn what you should take with you on the tour.

Guided off-piste tour

2 hours, 2–6 persons, 60€/person

Take a soft landing to backcountry skiing and experience the beautiful, easy-access off-piste skiing in Pyhä with our guide. We'll spend the session getting to know some of the best spots for off-piste riding and the sides of the slopes. We will put plenty of emphasis on safety and technique and get to know modern freeriding equipment.

The session prepares you for the Ukonhattu tour and gives you information on more easily accessible freeriding destinations of the slopes, even for more experienced skiers.

We will ski outside the marked slopes, so you need advanced skiing skills in variable slope conditions. Suitable equipment is freestyle skis slightly wider than the usual downhill skis, telemark skis, or a split board snowboard with touring bindings and ski skins.

If you wish you can rent the touring gear and snow safety equipment from the Rental shop. We recommend testing the gear beforehand.

The program requires:
– lift tickets for the entire program
– freeskiing equipment
– avalanche rescue gear (shovel, beeper, probe)
– a backpack suitable for carrying equipment

Programs outside the slopes are always depending on weather conditions.
Skiing outside the marked slopes is always at your own risk.

Freeriding techniques

80 min, 1 person 89€, 2+ persons 65€/person.

Would you like to go outside the slopes, but your downhill skiing skills and changing conditions create uncertainty? You can and should prepare yourself for skiing off the slopes already on the slopes. The ski instructors will lead you to different skiing locations in the area. You will practice the essential freeskiing skills, learn new techniques, and adapt the exercises to the challenges that await outside the slopes. You'll probably be surprised how many new things you'll learn for your future freeskiing adventures.

We are not going outside the slopes during the program, so you will not need avalanche rescue gear. You can participate in the program with equipment intended for downhill skiing, but to achieve a more authentic feel, we recommend equipment suitable for freeskiing.

The program requires:
