The Original Free'kend

Finland's most iconic freeride event invites you to Pyhätunturi at the end of March. During The Original Free'kend, freeriders of all levels and ages come together in Pyhä’s freeride paradise. The heart of this warm, community-driven event consists of three competitions: the Huttu-Ukko Challenge, Poker Rando, and the Aittakuru Freeride Contest. The winners of the open series in these competitions will be crowned the Royals of the Hill.

Throughout the long weekend, participants will enjoy sessions in great company on the lift-accessed freeride areas of the ski resort and learn new skills from Finland's top freeriders, the Free'kend Ambassadors. The weekend will also feature live music, and after Saturday’s award ceremony, there will be a disco where you can dance like there’s no tomorrow.

For the first time ever, there will also be a sister event, Free'kend Camp, which serves as a gateway into the sport for beginners or those new to freeriding.

Free'kend Camp

Free’kend Camp is a community-driven freeride event focused on learning new skills. Over the course of three days, participants will improve their skiing or snowboarding abilities in diverse terrains and snow conditions through various workshops, get acquainted with freeride equipment, and, of course, explore Pyhä’s freeride areas. The head guide for Free'kend Camp is Antti Autti, a professional freerider and Pyhä's partner rider. The event is organized alongside The Original Free'kend, with shared evening programs. Free'kend Camp is the perfect way to get introduced to the sport and its community while safely developing your freeride skills. Check out the program and sign up here
